Blog Hop (14)

Book Blogger Hop

The Blog Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books. This week's question is: "Which book blogger would you most like to meet in real life?"

ooohhh... Interesting question this week! I almost passed on this week's hop because I'm going out of town tomorrow for 5 days of fun and books at the International Reading Association Conference (it's ok to be jealous), and I'm not sure how much time I'll have to blog hop this upcoming week. BUT this question is too good to pass on! I would love to meet the masterminds behind these blogs:

1. The Bookish Brunette -- She's hilarious. If I lived near her, I would want to be her shopping buddy. For real. Plus, her blog is great. If you haven't seen it... well... (not thinking nice thoughts at the moment). I have a bit of blog envy. =)

2. A Backwards Story -- We have an 83% reading compatibilty according to Goodreads! Can you imagine the AWESOME book talks we would have? I also have blog envy here as well.

3. Parajunkee's View-- What can I say? I'm always looking around and getting tips from the Blogger 101 posts. Great stuff. She seems really friendly. I would want to pretend to be techy with her... but she would have to do all the talking.

4. The Story Siren-- I've been following her for YEARS. She was my inspiration. Enough said.

5. The Book Rat-- She seems quirky and entertaining. I have a feeling if we hung out at the mall, we would have fun people watching together. It might not be healthy, but it would be funny.

  1. Awww! I do believe you just made my day! We would totally be shopping buddies dude!!! Imagine the awesome!

  2. Hey! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog - I'm now a follower! Loved looking at your list - Parajunkee seems like a cool girl :D

  3. Excellent choices. They are more awesome bloggers!

Thanks for coming by Proud Book Nerd. (And your fun comments about t-shirts! LOL) I'm following you now, too!

  4. Cute blog your side panels.

I like this week's question because it is so different from our usual ones.

  5. Just stopping by from book hop. Its a hard question for me since I am new to blogging. New follower. Hope you can stop by during the week.

  6. There are so many people I want to meet. I love how friendly everyone is. I'm a new follower :)

  7. Aw, thank you! I feel special now. :) I think your blog is really pretty, too. We'd TOTALLY have fun discussions. We can always gmail chat :)

  8. Hi, I am here from the Hop! I love the look of your blog. I will be sure to "check out" some of the book blogs you mention here. :)

This week's question: Do you have any furry friends?

These are my fur babies:

This is what it often looks like while I'm busy working. As you can tell, productivity is high.

This is Lilly waiting for her boys to come home. She'll spend the entire day just like this if she's not sleeping next to me in my office.

This is Roscoe. AKA The Boss. He runs the show around here. And yes, he has a sweater AND a coat for cold weather.

Armchair BEA 2012 Introductions (day 1)

First, let me start off by saying that I am very excited to be participating in Armchair BEA this year. Since this is the first day of the weeklong event, here are my answers to the interview questions:

Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?
Well, the answer the first part of that question, I am a middle school Language Arts teacher in Florida (and probably one of the only people in a coastal city that hates the beach). I’ve been married to my hubby for 10 years and have 2 boys. My house is a constant zoo and I’m turning 30 in a few months. There is a mid-life crisis in my near future, I’m sure, but I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.
I started blogging in December of 2011 out of necessity. Seriously. My students know how easily I am distracted when they ask me about books (I eventually caught on to their tactics), so I started blogging out of a need for more teaching time. (I should go ahead and mention that I never talked books all day—even…

Summary from Amazon: Gaylen, the King’s messenger, a skinny boy of twelve, is off to poll the kingdom, traveling from town to farmstead to town on his horse, Marrow. At first it is merely a question of disagreement at the royal castle over which food should stand for Delicious in the new dictionary. But soon it seems that the search for Delicious had better succeed if civil war is to be avoided.

Gaylen’s quest leads him to the woldweller, a wise, 900-year-old creature who lives alone at the precise center of the forest; to Canto, the minstrel who sings him an old song about a mermaid child and who gives him a peculiar good-luck charm; to the underground domain of the dwarfs; and finally to Ardis who might save the kingdom from havoc.

My Review: I love this book! It is such a fun, easy, and enjoyable r…
