Coranne (or Amanda C.) from Short and Sweet Reviews is starting a new weekly feature called "The Best Book Ever." Each week, different bloggers (some stay the same each week) will be "facing off" Food Network style to tell you why their choice of book is the best one in the genre. Each week a different topic will be featured.
This week's topic... BOARDING SCHOOLS! I was in a mild state of panic when I originally saw this week's topic. I haven't read any boarding school books (not even the HP series). I thought for sure I was going to have to sit this week out too. (I missed last week because I had no good werewolf books to talk about.) But then I realized I have read a book with a boarding school element. It's not your typical boarding school either. This one is more like Xavier's School for the Gifted from X-men. Did I mention there is a mythology element too?
My featured book:
The only thing that mattered to Sollara was escaping the Deep Kingdom and exploring the world she had only ever dared to dream about. But when her dreams clash with her reality, she awakes in the arms of a handsome stranger, somewhere in an unknown and magical land. Not knowing who her enemies or allies are, she turns to those she was raised to despise for help.
All she had was her soul and she was determined to keep it.
If you want to read my full review for the book I will be pushing, you can check it out here. Then check out Short and Sweet Reviews to see what other books are being featured.
Next week's topic: MAGIC!
