Monthly Wrap-Up: August

Another month has come and gone, and I find myself one day away from starting September and celebrating my birthday. I love September. This year will be my final one as a 20 something. Another decade will soon begin.

Here's what I did in August:

Read and reviewed:

The Juliet Spell  by Douglas Rees
Skinny Bitch
A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies
Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst
The Keepers by Monique James

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw by Jeff Kinney (no review)

Wow, this is a really pitiful list. I'm almost ashamed to post it. But, in my defense, school did start back mid-August and I have been SWAMPED! Hopefully I will find that nice, happy balance soon.

It's that time of year again... time for another exciting school year AND a fantastic book giveaway hop! The wonderful bloggers at I Am a Reader, Not a Writer and Buried In Books are hosting this great event. All giveaways are book related, and will start on September 1st (my birthday) and end on September 7th.

Here's what I'm giving away:

Rise of the Wolf: Book 1 (Wereworld)Imagine a world ruled by Werelords--men and women who can shift at will into bears, lions, and serpents. When Drew suddenly discovers he's not only a werewolf but the long-lost heir to the murdered Wolf King's throne, he must use his wits and newfound powers to survive in a land suddenly full of enemies. Drew's the only one who can unite the kingdom in a massive uprising against its tyrant ruler, Leopold the Lion. But the king is hot on Drew's tail and won't rest until he's got the rebel Wolf's head.
1 ARC of Wereworld: Rise of the Wolf by Curtis Jobling.

Tempest Rising Tempest Maguire wants nothing more than to surf the killer waves near her California home; continue her steady relationship with her boyfriend, Mark; and take care of her brothers and surfer dad. But Tempest is half mermaid, and as her seventeenth birthday approaches, she will have to decide whether to remain on land or give herself to the ocean like her mother. The pull of the water becomes as insistent as her attraction to Kai, a gorgeous surfer whose uncanny abilities hint at an otherworldly identity as well. And when Tempest does finally give in to the water's temptation and enters a fantastical underwater world, she finds that a larger destiny awaits her-and that the entire ocean's future hangs in the balance.
1 ARC of Tempest Rising by Tracy Deebs.

Lots of other awesome book swag. It's a surprise though. =)
